Khaleelah I. L. Harris

Owner, curator & artist - Imani Leslie Gallery

Khaleelah I. L. Harris is a Washington, D.C. based arts, culture, and public history worker whose work focuses on curation, visual and literary art practice, and production. She began her career in the arts community as the Lead Curator and Manager of Mehari Sequar Gallery from April 2022 to October 20223. Through lecturing, consulting for writing and editing in the arts, consulting as a public historian, philanthropic event organizing, and more; she continued to serve the community beyond her tenure at the gallery. She is the Senior Producer and Host for the SNCC Legacy Project's newest podcast on past, present, and future movement building in the black community and serves The Washington, D.C. chapter of The Girl Friends, Inc. as a consultant and writer for their 90th anniversary commemorative history project. Harris is now the owner of Imani Leslie Gallery, a small scale artist development and art & culture exhibition production company. She is also the co-founder of The Beauty of Our Wellness, a Washington, D. C. based 501c3 charitable organization founded and incorporated to organize and facilitate wellness, arts, and uterine health awareness events which ultimately assist in raising money for The Beauty of Our Wellness Fund, a fund that offers financial assistance to women who have accumulated bills in the process of resolving their uterine fibroid related issues.
