Music Industry Executive & Co-Producer of ONE Music Fest
Managing world tours, negotiating million-dollar record deals, and 20 years of achievement in the industry, Music Exec and Marketing Powerhouse ‘Moetown’ has created platforms for success on all fronts. With heavy influence on careers such as Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson, DaBaby to Kendrick Lamar, it is no wonder this CEO has solidified his position as a key player.
A west coast native, Maurice ‘Moetown’ Lee proudly represents the state of California as his hometown. Inspired by the struggle of his underserved, once gang-saturated neighborhood, Lee began DJ’ing an escape from the street life. Quickly earning himself a name in the evolving music game.
In 1997, Moetown began work with Priority Records, which saw him relocating to his current residence and music metropolis Atlanta, GA. With success, he established Westway Consulting which he grew from a small promo street team to a full service Music Industry consulting firm to include artist management and commercial radio promotions. Amidst his extensive Marketing and Consulting work, Lee worked hands on with chart toping artists and music producers that include J Cole, 50 Cent, Ari Lennox and current chart topper Glorilla. Under Moetown’s guidance the artists toured internationally, achieving national successes with multiple Gold singles, platinum albums and even multiple Grammy nods. Through the success of Westway, the major labels would quickly take notice of Lee’s expertise seeking him for themselves.
Moetown co-produces one of the largest African American owned festivals ONE MUSICFEST founded by long time friend J. Carter. As A Key Curator for one of the largest Music Festivals in the U.S., this two day Atlanta event attracts crowds of 100,000+, hosting acts such as Lauryn Hill, Usher and Kendrick Lamar on its highly sought stages.
The evolution of a once shy kid from Compton with big dreams to over 20 years of achievements as a Music Industry exec, Lee has somehow managed to remain humble. Inspired by his own story of struggle, Lee created the Positive Outlooks a brand to inspire youth with a platform to define and succeed at their own goals. As his empire grows he aims to be a source of opportunity for generations to come. Priceless experiences from touring with the Late Tupac Shakur, Djing for Paperboy to managing Eightball & MJG, measurable goals such as guiding talent to Grammy recognition, and now building as partner on a #1 music festival, it is evident that Lee is on a path to an unmatchable legacy. A quote Lee often references –
“If you dare to struggle you dare to win.”
